Senior TV journalist Sumit Awasthi quits NDTV

Awasthi had been associated with NDTV India for nearly two and a half years as Consulting Editor

Senior television journalist Sumit Awasthi has stepped down from his role at NDTV. Highly placed sources have confirmed this development to e4m.
 
Awasthi, who had been associated with NDTV India for nearly two and a half years as Consulting Editor, was hosting the shows “Hum Bharat Ke Log” and “Khabron Ki Khabar.” 
 
With close to 25 years of experience, Sumit Awasthi is counted among India’s most respected political journalists. Before joining NDTV in July 2023, he served as Vice President (News & Production) at ABP News. He joined ABP News in 2018 as Consulting Editor. Prior to that, he worked with Network18 as Deputy Managing Editor and also served as Resident Editor at Zee News.
 
Awasthi was earlier associated with Aaj Tak for nearly five years, where he worked as Deputy Editor. He is widely known for his strong grasp of Indian politics and his incisive reporting.
 
Over the years, he has been honoured with several prestigious awards, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award, the Madhav Jyoti Award, and the exchange4media News Broadcasting Awards (ENBA).
