Shailesh Shekhar named Chief Synergy Officer of India Today Group

This is Shekhar's second stint with the Group after 11 years with Microsoft

Shailesh Shekhar has been appointed as the Chief Synergy Officer of the India Today Group. He has extensive experience leading large digital businesses over last two decades for prominent media companies in India and Microsoft Start (MSN) global content ecosystem.

This is Shekhar's second stint with the Group after 11 years with Microsoft where he and his team worked alongside Engineers and Data Scientists to augment editorial operations, automating publishing processes and driving personalisation for MSN. Recently, he headed Microsoft Start business in APAC region – 13 countries & 10 languages.

In his earlier stint with ITG, Shekhar worked with ITG's digital business as its Chief Operating Officer & Editor. "I worked very closely with him in his last tenure with us. So, it’s a homecoming of sorts," said Kalli Purie about his appointment in an internal memo.

Shekhar will report directly to Kalli Purie.

He has worked for HT Media Group and
