STAR Entertainment adds content to Ajay Vidyasagar’s profile
STAR Entertainment has decided to add content to Ajay Vidyasagar’s profile, who is currently looking after the emerging media business as EVP, New Media. He will now be Head of Content and New Media.
STAR Entertainment is beginning the year with some changes in its senior management. One such change comes in Ajay Vidyasagar’s role, who is currently EVP – New Media. STAR has added content to Vidyasagar’s current profile, making him Head of Content and New Media.
Even as the structure has already set in, a formal announcement is expected soon. STAR officials refused to divulge further details in this regard at present.
It may be recalled that the function of Content at STAR Entertainment was headed by Deepak Segal, who took on a new role when he took charge of the setting up of Fox Television Studios India in December 2006. The position of an overall content head for STAR Entertainment has been vacant since. With this, all content teams would report to Vidyasagar, who in turn reports to STAR Entertainment, CEO, Sameer Nair.
Vidyasagar has played quite few roles at STAR – prior to the position of New Media, he was the overall Marketing Head for the then STAR India, a role he assumed in 2004. Before that he was looking after the operations of Vijay TV as General Manager, Regional Operations.
