Wieden+Kennedy Delhi has roped in Sunaina Gupta as Head of Planning. Gupta moves from Leo Burnett Delhi. On her appointment, Mohit Jayal, Managing Director, Wieden+Kennedy Delhi, light-heartedly said, “We’re delighted to have Sunaina on board with us at W+K. Nice to have another lunatic in the asylum!”

Upbeat about her new job profile, Gupta said, “I am forever looking to challenge how I think and how I create. Wieden+Kennedy Delhi is truly a studio for creativity and insight. In my role as Head of Planning, I hope to take what planners do to the next level, to push beyond ATL strategy and make us the owners of behaviour changing valuable brand assets.”

Gupta had earlier held account planning positions in global agencies like DDB Chicago and BBDO Chicago. In 2008, she joined the Indian advertising scene as Head of Planning for Leo Burnett Delhi, where she had played a key role in expanding the office by helping win several new businesses, including Uninor, The Indian Express, Kohler and McCain Foods. She also established Delhi’s planning department and made it instrumental in creative development for brands such as Minute Maid, Chevrolet Spark and Samsung Mobile.

Apart from brand strategy, Gupta has first-hand experience in integrated campaigns, customer lifetime value segmentation and direct marketing. She also happens to be an architect, who went on to obtain a masters degree in integrated marketing communications from Northwestern University in Chicago.
