Zoom and Times Now have announced a combined market-facing team for the distribution efforts of both the channels. With the growing number of opportunities across platforms, the goal is to expand market presence. It may be noted that this is the first time the two channels have joined hands on any function.

Hitherto, despite both being from the Bennett, Coleman (BCCL) stable, the channels have not worked on any count together. Vikram Thukral has been appointed Vice-President, Distribution, for Times Now and Zoom, reporting to both the CEO of the two channels, Sunil Lulla (Times Now) and Suresh Bala (Zoom).

Bala and Lulla jointly stated: “We welcome Vikram’s leadership and believe both channels will be served better with combined efforts in growing each channel’s household reach.”

Over the next few weeks, both channel teams will be integrated for a common customer-facing team.

Thukral brings with him over 19 years of experience in the field of distribution with Ceat India and Star India. At Star, he has led each of the regions -- East, North and West – to expand Star’s household reach and earning significant revenues from distribution. Thukral has been an outstanding performer at Star and has helped drive its bouquet presence. Times Now is owned by Times Global Broadcasting (a joint venture of Times Group and Reuters Company) and Zoom is fully owned by Bennett, Coleman & Co Ltd.
