‘Women see angles of compassion that men don't see’

e4m Women Achievers' Awards 2023 was unfolded in a dazzling ceremony on December 20, at the Park Hotel, New Delhi, celebrating the remarkable accomplishments of women in the PR and Corp. Communication field. Maneka Gandhi, Hon. Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, graced the event with her presence as the chief guest. She is also a prominent Indian politician who has played a pivotal role as a woman leader in championing the cause of women's rights and empowerment.
In her brief interaction with the audience, she delivered an inspiring speech emphasising women's crucial role in communication and various industries. She highlighted the inherent strengths of women, praising their innate ability to communicate effectively and acknowledging the unique perspectives women bring to the table.
"Women are very good communicators. They are sharp; they see angles of compassion that men don't see. They see different ways of looking and dressing up an item to make it more interesting," she remarked.
Furthermore, she stressed the importance of women in the professional arena, emphasizing their exceptional contributions. "The industry needs women, and they have extremely important work here," she affirmed. She shared insights from her early career, "Long before I was married, I took up a course in Journalism, and right after I was married, I ran a magazine called Surya, which was very important at the time because it represented the Congress party for three years. We had a lot of fun, and we learned a lot about how to communicate and ways to persuade people," she recalled.
She also shared that running a magazine played a pivotal role in shaping her understanding of effective communication strategies and the power of media in influencing public opinion.
As the audience listened attentively, Smt. Maneka Gandhi concluded her speech by extending her congratulations to all the winners. "I congratulate each one of you," she said, applauding the achievements of women across diverse fields and encouraging them to continue making significant strides in their respective domains.
