The week gone by started with the news of India bagging 40 metals at Cannes Lions 2017, thereby breaking its own previous 2013 record of winning 33 metals. McCann Worldgroup India emerged as the biggest winner from India with 16 out of 33 metals to its credit. Also, WPP being hit by global cyber attack made news last week. Search engine giant Google had two significant happenings- one being slapped with a fine of $2.7 billion by the European Union for favouring some of its own services over those of its rivals and also, Google announcing that it will stop scanning Gmail content for any ads personalisation soon. As Sonal Dabral, Chairman and CCO of DDB Mudra decides to move on, key transitions happened within the Group with Rahul Mathew being named NCD of DDB Mudra Group while Brijesh Jacob is now the Group's Chief Creative Technologist. At SPN, Kedar Teny joined as Senior VP, Marketing & OAP.
