e4mrecap: The Week That Was
A recap of the most important stories that you may have missed this week
The week from July 31 to Aug 4 started with a spotlight on whether a Facebook-Google duopoly portends a warning for publishers, given the pervasive nature of both these platforms in our daily lives. It is estimated that nearly 70% of all digital revenue in the US is accounted for by the two. In India, sources indicate it to be around 60%. As July drew to a close, we took a closer look at ad spends and how they reacted to GST implementation. Mid-week saw the Tatas signing a 10-year sponsorship deal with Mumbai Marathon and the promise of a brand new avatar of Mumbai’s most popular marathon. As the week progressed, we dove into Pro Kabaddi League and its multi-crore worth and revenue potential. The week concluded with a recap of top five ads that became all the rage on social media in the recent past.
