The Week That Was

The week gone by was marked by a series of top level exits, prominent among them being Star India’s President of Consumer Strategy & Innovation Gayatri Yadav, and Ashok Venkatramani, Managing Director of Zee Media. While the print media was in a flurry after the Union Budget announced the imposition of 10 percent customs duty on newsprint, the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) issued a statement, July 8, requesting the government to withdraw the duty.  The Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) released its first separate list for Free & Pay platforms, evoking mixed responses amongst stakeholders.
