Abanti Sankaranarayanan expected to be new Chairman of ASCI
She would be taking over from current ASCI Chairman, Srinivasan K. Swamy, chairman and managing director, RK Swamy BBDO
Abanti Sankaranarayanan, vice-chairperson, Confederation of Indian Alcohol Beverage Companies (CIABC), and current vice-chairman of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), is expected to take over as the new Chairman of ASCI at the 31st annual general meeting of the industry body, scheduled to be held in Mumbai today, say industry sources. Srinivasan K. Swamy, chairman and managing director, RK Swamy BBDO, is the current chairman of the board of ASCI.
Sankaranarayanan is Chief Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer, Diageo India. She was earlier heading the luxury business at USL where she oversaw corporate relations. Sankaranarayanan had served in the capacity of Diaego MD since 2012.
The luxury business at USL includes a portfolio of marquee global brands such as Johnnie Walker whisky, Ciroc vodka, and single malts like The Singleton and Talisker, among others.
