Following a multi-agency pitch, Air Deccan has signed Maxus as its new media agency. The account would be handled from Bangalore. Industry sources peg the business in the region of Rs 20 crore. The incumbent on the business was Starcom. Starcom officials inform that they resigned from the business some months back, when Jet Airways was added to their kitty. The creative agency is Orchard.
Confirming the development, Ajit Varghese, MD, Maxus India, said, “Air Deccan will be an important client for Maxus Bangalore. It would be an interesting category to work on, with the kind of action and growth happening in the aviation sector. We would work towards making it more operationally efficient, and also bring in a significant improvement in the media offering in this intensely competing sector.”
Air Deccan India is a significant player in the airline segment, which began its operations in August 2003. Air Deccan has a large network in India with 65 destinations, and is presently operating a fleet of 43 aircrafts. Air Deccan provides air travel at very low costs and the company’s vision statement is to ‘empower every Indian to fly’.
