Amazon has offered advertisers an opportunity to try audio ads, media reports have said.
This is Amazon’s first move towards paid product placements along with Alexa.
This April, Amazon had announced an ad-supported music service. According to reports, the test run will be free for marketers, and brands invited include Colgate, L’Oréal and Lululemon.
Emily Anthony, Director of Media Services at Merkle, was quoted as saying: “Audio ads are a really strong opportunity for reaching a niche audience.”
According to advertisers who have been briefed about the programme, Amazon audio ads will be interactive as opposed to those on Spotify and Pandora.
