The ASCI presentation showcased the introduction of the new e-Learning course that the self regulating body of the advertising industry has just launched. Yahoo is the first company to get a certification from ASCI for the e-learning program. The presentation spoke about the purpose of ASCI and its functioning.
“ASCI follows four basic rules, one - honesty in advertising, two - decency in advertising, three -responsibility in advertising, four - sense in advertising. As creators of ads we should familiarize ourselves with these codes to avoid any violations. You can avail of the e-learning certification program for a more in depth understanding,” the presentation said.
Apart from how to make a complaint against a particular piece of advertising, it also showed how agencies themselves could send their creatives to ASCI to be approved prior to production. It finally concluded by saying the self-regulation is the best regulation.
