Ahead of the Loksabha Elections, it look like the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is bringing its A-game to woo the voters. In a recent ad film released by the party, BJP is seen to be taking a dig at the opposition, I.N.D.I.A alliance, in a spoof-filled take.

The ad shows the alliance members trying to win the hand of a bride (metaphorically the voters) with a Rahul Gandhi lookalike as the self-appointed "groom." But soon enough, the other members of the alliance, or "business partners" object to Gandhi's candidature, with each wanting to be the groom himself. Chaos ensues with members of the alliance fighting among themselves with the bride looking on.

"Do you think they will be able to select who the groom is going to be?" asks the narrator to the bride, to which she says no. The narrator retorts, "So how do you think they are going to choose the Prime Minister amongst themselves?"

The ad is complete with lookalikes of prominent national politicians like Arvind Kejriwal, Sonia Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Uddhav Thackrey, and Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav. The comments section is rife with people applauding the funny ad.

The ruling party's not-so-subtle dig is the first salvo in the ad battle that will ensue in the coming days before the Lok Sabha elections of 2024.

Last week, it was reported that the creative mandate for BJP was granted to McCann Worldgroup and Scarecrow M&C Saatchi. Madison Media will be taking care of the ruling party's media planning and buying duties
