D.D. Purkayastha to replace Pramath Sinha as ABP Group CEO
Dipankar Das Purkayastha has been officially named as the new CEO of Kolkata-headquartered ABP Group, replacing Dr Pramath Raj Sinha who has put in his papers. Purkayastha was Exeutive Director and COO before this.
Dipankar Das Purkayastha has been named as the new CEO of the Kolkata-headquartered ABP Group, replacing Dr Pramath Raj Sinha who has put in his papers after a stint of a little over a year. The news of Dr Sinha’s resignation which was reported by exchange4media on Friday, has now been made official within the company.
Purkayastha was the Executive Director and COO of the ABP Group and he has over the years headed the Finance and IT portfolios in the group. He is also credited with having built up BusinessWorld INFOCOM as a major property for the group and as a significant IT event in the eastern part of the country.
Dr Sinha, formerly a McKinsey Partner and Dean of the Indian School of Business, had joined ABP in January 2006. He had succeeded Aniruddha Lahiri who had left ABP towards the end of 2005 after three years at the helm of eastern India’s largest media house.
