With Congress recently appointing Crayons to handle its communications for the forthcoming elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is now all set to embark on its communication activities. The political party has called for a media pitch and had sought proposals from at least four leading agencies – GraphicAds, Lintas, Prachar and Everest Brand Solutions – for a political blitzkrieg against the UPA Government.

According to industry estimates, the account size is pegged at Rs 150 crore. Two rounds of presentations have already taken place, following which Lintas and GraphicAds have been selected for the final round of presentation, which is expected next month. Based on the final presentation one agency would be chosen to handle the BJP campaign.

The BJP campaign will focus on three ‘I’s —inflation, internal security and incompetence – in its campaign for the forthcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

Besides the television and print media blitzkrieg, BJP is focusing more on below the line activities like rallies, posters, etc.
