Repudiating reports that have appeared in a section of the media that it had decided on a media agency, auto major General Motors has clarified that it was in the final stages of the pitch process and was yet to decide on an agency. Meanwhile, there is no review of its creative duties either and Leo Burnett and Wieden+Kennedy will continue to handle the account. The size of the business is pegged at Rs 100 crore.

When contacted, both Ankush Arora, VP – Sales and Marketing, and Gaurav Gupta, Director – Marketing, General Motors, denied the media reports and said, “The news in a section of the media is absolutely incorrect. We are in the process of finalising a media agency. The evaluation of vendors takes time as it involves objective and process evaluation.”

Sameer Gangahar, Executive Director, Leo Burnett Delhi, said, “We’ve had a long and solid relationship with General Motors. I think what Ankush Arora has said should put to rest all speculations.”
