One chance I get to jot down my personal experiences at exchange4media and air my views (and grievances) and I suffer a near writer’s block! But let me move around that. I am not new to niche publications, but exchange4media is a different ballgame altogether. I would define my work as very hectic yet adventurous. There is a lot of stress and pressure – to deliver, meet deadlines, be accurate, be fast – but am learning to enjoy that and even thrive amid newsroom chaos.
As a correspondent I enjoy writing on the print and broadcast media, especially in the regional space. I was able to build up some great and useful contacts in the regional space during the year and would want to explore the domain more extensively in 2009. According to me, it’s a booming market and we can do some great incisive reports – if only the players in the regional space cooperate with us and players readily share their thoughts and news with us.
Here, I would like to thank all my contacts in media who have helped my out in various ways while filing my news reports. I look forward to some great news from them.
The year 2008 has been a tough one for nearly all sectors, and that includes media too. I wish for better times for all in 2009. The latter part of 2008 was all about the economic slowdown and its impact, let’s hope for a speedy recovery in 2009.
