IMPACT’s Creative Talks: Experts to discuss how ad industry can help transgenders today
The weekly webinar series will bring together experts from the creative industry to discuss what’s winning hearts and what isn’t in the advertising industry
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, while the country has been actively speaking about the plight of senior citizens, healthcare workers and migrant workers, the transgender community remains excluded from the discussions. Among the other battles which the transgender community has been fighting for ages such as discrimination and outcasting, the community today has an even bigger battle to face - starvation.
Recently, ad filmmaker Amit Sharma, Founder of Chrome Pictures, made a heart-wrenching film on how the transgender community has been ignored by one and all during the pandemic. The advertising industry has time and again stood up for the marginalized sections of society and brought their plight to public attention. To discuss more on the topic, IMPACT Magazine has launched a weekly webinar series titled ‘IMPACT Creative Talks’, a weekly show that will bring together experts from the Creative industry to discuss the good, bad and ugly side of the advertising industry.
In the inaugural episode of the series, a panel of experts will discuss the topic- “Can Ad world's efforts help the transgender community to stand up and be counted for COVID-19 relief?”
The panel will also address the issues that the transgender community has been facing in the view of the ongoing pandemic and how their survival has become more difficult than before as government relief remains elusive because of lack of proper documentation.
The panellists are Amit Sharma, Co-founder, Chrome Pictures; Producer & Director of films like Badhaai Ho, Founder, Phool Versha Foundation; Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Shri Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, Transgender Rights Activist and Founder, Kineer Services Pvt. Ltd; Azazul Haque, Chief Creative Officer, Mullen Lintas; Garima Arora, Founder, Entourage Films & Co-founder, NamMyoho Daan; Ajay Vikram, Chief Creative Officer for Global Clients, Publicis Singapore and the session will be moderated by Neeta Nair, Assistant Editor, IMPACT.
