IRS 2007 R1: Biz publications lose readers; ET, Business Today lead in their segments

IRS 2007 in its first round has released the readership figures of leading business publications in India. Business publications in general have seen a dip in readership. While The Economic Times and Business Today lead in their genres, Business Standard was not been taken into consideration.

IRS 2007 is out. The Economic Times and The Hindu Business Line lead business publications in the country with 7,74,000 and 1,07,000 readers; Financial Express follows close with 38,000 readers.

However, almost all the business publications that IRS has taken into consideration have seen a fall in readership, except for Outlook Money, which has grown by 3.13 per cent to 165,000 readers.

The Economic Times lost 29,000 readers, a drop of around 4 per cent. Financial Express has lost 20,000 readers, representing a fall of 35 per cent. Hindu Business Line also saw a drop of almost 27 per cent as it lost 40,000 readers.

Among business magazines, Business Today has seen a 10 per cent drop in readership and a total of 535,000 readers; Business India dropping by 17 per cent with a total of 357,000 readers; Business World dropping at 17 per cent and a total of 239,000 readers; Capital Market by 17per cent again and a total of 64,000 readers; and Dalal Street Investors’ Journal by 6per cent and a total of 64,000 readers.

Business & Economy has a total of 64,000 readers in this round. Business Standard was not been taken into consideration.
