Live India is the new avatar of Janmat as in Broadcast Initiatives Ltd., the news and current affairs channel promoted by Sri Adhikari Brothers and has gone live on August 3, 2007 i.e. today. With this new programming and new improved on air look, the channel switches to the 24-hour live news mode from its current programming mode. The company has invested substantially on its new avatar.

The investment includes a complete renovation of the studio, an increase in the number of outdoor broadcast vans, installation of Newsroom Automation System that would provide live connectivity with all the channel bureaus, a new graphic machine, virtual sets and colour schemes. In short, a complete makeover is expected from the channel after the re-launch. This is in addition to a strong editorial team led by the Editor and CEO, Sudhir Chaudhry.

Markand Adhikari, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Broadcast Initiatives Ltd, said, “Live India is a 24-hour live news avatar of Janmat. We have been working very hard for the last five months to convert Janmat into a live news format. Live India is the outcome of the effort. We would like to provide viewers with credible news round the clock which is true and hard hitting.”

On the need to introduce Live India programming, Adhikari said, “Janmat has been more of a discussion and views based channel. We will now be working on advanced technology and will be more on a live format and Live India is that 24 hour news programming.”
