New SDMC tenders to open up more OOH advertising opportunities

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has floated three new tenders with focus on advertisement rights for unipoles, toilet blocks and Flag/Mupi/Advertisement instruments and more.

At a time when the economy is in the midst of a slowdown, SDMC’s new tenders is set to open up more advertisement opportunities. The tenders are to allot advertising rights for unipole, toilet blocks and Flag/Mupi/Advertisement instruments/Product display platform/LED spread across its jurisdiction. Prem Shankar Jha, Deputy Commissioner, SDMC, confirmed the development to exchange4media.

“The initial tender is for allotment of advertisement rights for Advertisement Instruments/ LED in market/ Mupi/ Product display platform/ Flag bunch of Central and South regions. The allotment will be on a monthly licence fee basis,” Jha said.

The process is a two-bid system, covering financial and technical, and allotment rights for seven years. The bidder is eligible to apply for all the clusters at the same time. The tender permits billboards of a size of 2X1.5 meter, at maximum height of 14 feet. The client will be permitted to convert flag into LED displays of the same size within the market cluster and one product display platform in the respective market cluster.

Sharing more information, Jha said, “The second tender will give advertisement rights, with maintenance and operation, through appointed bunch of existing individual toilet/Toilet block and subways falling under SDMC's jurisdiction.” This tender will also be rolled out in a two-bid system, but for 3 years with a further extendable clause.

The third tender will give advertising rights through clusters. It will contain unipole sites in South, Central Najafgarh and West zones. It will also have individual unipole sites under the SDMC jurisdiction for 3 years, extendable for 2 years via a two-bid system. Each unipole structure shall have a dimension of 6m x 3m with some exceptions.

The last date for submitting bids is November 4. The e-auction bidding for the first and second tenders will be held on November 15, whereas the e-auction bidding for the third tender will take place on November 14.
