Prasar Bharti’s K.S. Sarma re-elected IBF President

The Indian Broadcasting Federation (IBF) has unanimously re-elected K.S.Sarma, CEO, Prasar Bharti, as its President for 2004-05. At the Annual General Meeting held in New Delhi on Wednesday, the IBF board members also unanimously retained Jawahar Goel of Siticable as Vice-president, and I. Venkat of Eenadu Group as Treasurer.

The Indian Broadcasting Federation (IBF) has unanimously re-elected K.S.Sarma, CEO, Prasar Bharti, as its President for 2004-05. At the Annual General Meeting held in New Delhi on Wednesday, the IBF board members also unanimously retained Jawahar Goel of Siticable as Vice-president, and I. Venkat of Eenadu Group as Treasurer.

The three new IBF board members this time are Harish Chawla (TV18), Sharmistha Rijwani (Ten Sports) and Narayan Rao (NDTV). While the first two were Special Invitees last year, Rao was a coopted Director last time. They replace R.C. Venkatesih (ESPN), Alex Kuruvilla ((MTV) and Anshuman Misra (Turner).

The other board members who have been retained are Deepak Shourie (Discovery), Peter Mukerjea (STAR Group), Kunal Dasgupta (Sony), G. Krishnan (TV Today Network), Vinod Bakshi (BBC), and Mahesh Prasad (Sahara TV).

Alex Kuruvilla (MTV) and R.C. Venkateish (ESPN) have been coopted as Directors, along with Markand Adhikari (SaB TV).

The three Special Invitees this time are Ronnie Screwvala (Vijaya TV), Sharad Kumar (Sun TV), and Anshuman Mishra (Turner).

N.P. Nawani continues as Secretary General, and Naresh Chahal as Director-Finance of the federation.
