Shailesh Kapoor quits Filmy as Business Head; plans to start own venture
Shailesh Kapoor put in his papers at Filmy, the movie channel from Sahara One Media and Entertainment Ltd, as Business Head on Monday, July 7. He is currently serving out the notice period. Kapoor is planning to start his own venture in the entertainment space and is expected to make a formal announcement in August.

Commenting on his next assignment, Kapoor said, “I am planning to start my own venture, but I would be making formal announcement only in early August. It will be something in the entertainment business.”
Speaking on his experience at Filmy, Kapoor said, “Filmy has been the best three years of my professional career. We believe we have managed to create a distinctive and vibrant Hindi movie channel. I would like to thank our head, Seemanto Roy, for his support, and my entire team across sales, programming, marketing and on-air promos for creating a brand we all are proud of.”
Prior to Filmy, Kapoor was with Zoom as Head of Marketing. He began his career in 1999 at Sony Entertainment Television in brand management. He then moved to Indya.com, where he took charge of their movies and music portals. In 2002, he joined Zee Cinema as its Marketing Head, before moving on to Zoom in February 2004.
