Shashi Sinha is a people's person combined with passion for work: Ravi Kant

Ravi Kant, former vice chairman and former MD of Tata Motors was speaking at AAAI ceremony where Shashi Sinha, CEO of IPG Mediabrands India, received the AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award for 2023.

Ravi Kant, former vice chairman and a former managing director of Tata Motors who has known Shashi Sinha CEO, IPG MediaBrands India for over 30 years since he joined LML. He said Sinha played a critical role in turning around LML from a loss-making to a profit-making company by increasing a share from 9% to an astonishing 33% in a market dominated by strong and well-known brands. 

“I developed a personal bond with Shashi and others at FCB Ulka and this only strengthened over time, especially when I was at Tata Motors,” said Kant.  He also shared that Sinha is doing brilliant work in the media while heading an agency which accounts for a fifth of media spend in the country. With senior positions in AAAI, ASCI, BARC and MRUC, he has actively participated in shaping the industry from a print medium, to now digital. 

He said Sinha’s warmth, and friendliness are assets that have allowed him to develop a broad network of solid relationships. “He is a quintessential people's person and this combined with his passion for work and intuitive, insightful new objects, makes him a rare leader. I am extremely glad that AAAI has recognised these and other qualities of Shashi Sinha and awarded him a lifetime achievement award.”
