Some strategic tie-ups in the industry came in for discussion at the general meeting of the Association of Radio Operators of India (AROI), held in the Capital on October 18. Also at the meeting, Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City, and President, AROI, laid down the agenda for the radio operators’ body for the next two years.

Some strategic tie-ups in the industry came in for discussion at the general meeting of the Association of Radio Operators of India (AROI), held in the Capital on October 18. Also at the meeting, Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City, and President, AROI, laid down the agenda for the radio operators’ body for the next two years. The agenda was given the go ahead by the AROI members and has now been forwarded to the I&B Ministry for its approval.

Uday Chawla, GM-Commercial, India Today Group, and Secretary-General, AROI, said, “AROI is in the process of tying up with the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association, Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and Radio Advertising Bureau for strategic partnerships. We will be looking at sharing the best packages with the industry across the world.”

Meanwhile, BBC Worldwide has become an associate member of AROI given their expected entry into the radio space in India in the few months’ time.
