Abhijit Avasthi, National Creative Director, Ogilvy India wants to push the envelope further and cracking the big digital/mobile idea for India this year.
“I think some parts of media planning will come back into the advertising agency, or at least there will be tie-ups. Digital and mobile will pick up in a big way. I don’t think traditional forms such as films and print will see a slowdown; they will in fact continue to boom,” said Avasthi.
In terms of areas he would be focussing on for Ogilvy, Avasthi emphasises that the basics don’t change, and the idea and constant endeavour is to do more surprising and endearing work for all the brands. He aims to do this more so in areas (read: digital and mobile) where traditionally India has not done work that the common man talks about.
“For example, some of the films or activations we do for our clients today – I hear my neighbours and relatives talking about it, I know it is working. But, there is yet to be an exercise like that in digital or mobile that the world talks about. We hope to crack that this year,” added Avasthi.
