VK Chopra elected President of Delhi Ad Club

VK Chopra, who has over 30 years’ experience in the newspaper industry, has been recently been elected as President of the Delhi Ad Club for the year 2008-09. This is the third time he has been given the mantle of the Delhi Ad Club President. He takes charge from outgoing President Vivek Syal, who is General Manager-Marketing at Hero Honda.

VK Chopra has been recently been elected as President of the Delhi Ad Club for the year 2008-09. This is the third time he has been given the mantle of the Delhi Ad Club President, the earlier two occasions being in 2004-05 and 2005-06. He takes charge from outgoing President Vivek Syal, who is General Manager-Marketing at Hero Honda. The elections were held at the Club’s Annual General Meeting held on October 13, 2008.

Chopra, who has over 30 years’ experience in the newspaper industry, is also the Chairman of the Indian Newspaper Society for the NCR and Vice-President for the Indian Languages Newspapers Association. He is serving the third tenure in both the bodies. He is currently also the Editor of Hindi film magazine ‘Filmi Dunia’.

RC Tanwar, Director-Marketing, Aaj, and Chetan Verma, Deputy General Manager, PowerGrid, have been appointed as Vice-Presidents of the Delhi Ad Club. Gaurav Chopra, Proprietor, ‘Filmi Dunia’ and Pramod K Bhandula, MD, JCDecaux, have been elected the Joint Secretaries. KK Malhotra, Proprietor, KS Advertising, has been elected Treasurer, while Narinder Sharma, Director, Critic Communications is the General Secretary.

The other executive office-bearers include:

2. Esha Guha, Senior Vice President, Concept Communications
3. Ashok Sharma, Head-Delhi, Rashtradoot
4. JS Malhotra, President, Media Representation International
5. JN Magoo, Chief-PR, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation

Speaking about the future plans of the Delhi Ad Club, Chopra said, “We will be very active in creating a buzz around the advertising and marketing fraternity. We will organise professional seminars in the fraternity, which would be key in increasing membership of the Club. Also, the Delhi Ad Club will take its awards to SAARC countries in the near future. Excursion trips and marketing and advertising quizzes are also in the pipeline.”
