BuzzFeed’s Lee Brown to join Spotify as VP, Global Sales Strategy

BuzzFeed’s current Chief Revenue Officer, Lee Brown will be joining Spotify as Vice President of Global Sales strategy, next month. According to media reports, BuzzFeed sent a memo to staffers announcing Lee’s departure and his new role at Spotify.
Brown will report to Barry McCarthy, Chief Financial Officer at Spotify.
In the internal memo, Jonah Peretti, Founder and CEO of BuzzFeed, is reported to have said that Brown leaves the publication ‘in a position of strength.’
Brown, has earlier been associated with Tumblr, Groupon and Yahoo. He played a significant role in diversifying BuzzFeed’s ad revenue in programmatic advertising, direct-to-consumer sales and sponsored content.
