Indra Nooyi, CEO of Pepsico will retire from her position in October, after being with the company for 12 years, according to reports. Ramon Laguarta, who has been with the company for 22 years and was appointed as President last year will take over Nooyi's duties as CEO.

The first female CEO of Pepsico, Nooyi navigated the food and beverage giant's growth and propelled diversification of the company away from its cola drink origins, extending its business into a range of healthier food products including, hummus and kombucha; although these have been met with mixed results.

In a statement Nooyi said, “Leading PepsiCo has truly been the honour of my lifetime, and I’m incredibly proud of all we have done over the past 12 years to advance the interests not only of shareholders, but all our stakeholders in the communities we serve”.
