Prakash Javadekar has been appointed as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting in the new Narendra Modi government.
He was the Human Resources Development minister in the previous Union government cabinet. He initially served as Minister of State (independent charge) in the Environment Ministry for two years, and was appointed HRD Minister in 2016.
The 68-year-old leader has held several portfolios in the previous governments and was also elected twice to the Rajya Sabha.
