IRS Q3 2010: Dailies see growth in this quarter; Dainik Jagran, Dainik Bhaskar maintain lead

The third quarter of the Indian Readership Survey (IRS) indicates absolutely no change in the order of the top dailies. Dainik Jagran and Dainik Bhaskar take lead once again, followed by Hindustan, Malayala Manorama and Amar Ujala. The one evident change is of just one publication witnessing a decline among the top 10. Overall, the dailies chart has seen minor growth.

An interesting debate cropped up in the panel discussion on ‘Is Regional TV the ‘New’ National TV’ on Day One of the FICCI Media & Entertainment Business Conclave (MEBC), being held in Hyderabad. While some panellists were all for regional TV flexing its muscles, others maintained that Hindi channels brought in the revenues.
