Adobe has reportedly acquired Bangalore-based generative AI company Rephrase.ai, marking the global tech giant's first acquisition of not only an Indian startup but also a generative AI property.

The company will now integrate Rephrase.ai's tech with its own Creative Cloud video-editing platform.

Adobe circulated an internal memo that stated how the acquisition will help it boost its AI capabilities. The majority of Rephrase.ai's team will now reportedly join Adobe.
Rephrase.ai is a synthetic video creation platform that leverages AI to make personalized videos for businesses. The company specialises in converting text into video of a person speaking that text, helping create digital avatars for commercial purposes.

Rephrase.ai was founded by Ashray Malhotra, Nisheeth Lahoti, and Shivam Mangla in 2019 and is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
