Former US President Barack Obama and wife Michelle Obama have entered into a multi-year agreement with Netflix to produce films and series. An announcement regarding this was made by the online streaming company on Monday.
Under the agreement, the couple will have the options to produce scripted and unscripted series, documentaries and feature films.
According to media reports Barack Obama issued a statement about the agreement, saying that he and wife Michelle"will cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples."
"One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience. That's why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix,” Barack was quoted as saying.
“We hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world," he reportedly said in the statement.
