The netizens did not take well to the “breach of privacy” and showed their concerns about future transactions with Razorpay.
"Razorpay handed over AltNews donor data to the police"? Was there a court order that led to Razorpay complying to the ask from police?

I wish we, the Indian public, can similarly get details on the money received by political parties via electoral bonds and other methods. https://t.co/HS3VJ4HkOS
Can I sue #Razorpay for casually sharing my personal data with the police? https://t.co/PF2dxnTz3W

To investigate the charge under FCRA, all the police needed to check was whether any foreign contribution was received or not. Seizing details of all donors is unnecessary, illegal. #Razorpay

Fellow Indians, make sure to never use this platform again. Even mistakenly.

Zero respect for those who don't respect data privacy. #Razorpay https://t.co/Pd01GjImDt
This is what happens when a country doesn't have any days privacy laws. #Razorpay simply handed over user data just like that without any regard for user privacy. Shame @Razorpay https://t.co/zPd7npSYxD

Albeit, some stood in the support of Razorpay as well, saying that the company only abided by the law and can’t be punished for that.
For those who are saying #Razorpay handled data, how else do u want police to solve cases?

In fact if some financial fraud happens, the victim asks police to get data from payment gateway ASAP to catch the culprit.
And under Section 91 of CrPC they are supposed to provide that.
People expect a leading fintech company to not disclose transaction data on request of authorities which can prove to be critical evidence against perpetrator. If they haven't taken funds from wrong sources why are they worried. #Razorpay

Welldone #Razorpay we support your decision in favour of India. https://t.co/sSWjKEqtYc

What @Razorpay did was what they had to do to comply with the laws of the Indian constitution.

If they hadn't complied, this same fellow @ajay43 would have tweeted critiquing #Razorpay for their rogue behaviour.
