Dating app Bumble has apologised after allegations that its adverts shame women who are celibate.

The said campaign goes with a message: "A vow of celibacy is not the answer".

According to Bumble, the ad was supposed to be a quirky take on those "frustrated by modern dating".

The app has removed the ads for the ad. "We made a mistake. Our ads referencing celibacy were an attempt to lean into a community frustrated by modern dating, and instead of bringing joy and humour, we unintentionally did the opposite."
