Elon Musk hires CEO for Twitter, accepts CTO role
While Musk hasn't revealed any names, it is reported that Comcast NBCUniversal’s Linda Yaccarino could be the new Twitter chief
On Thursday, Twitter owner Elon Musk revealed that he has hired a Chief Executive Officer for the platform.
“Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in 6 weeks,” he tweeted.
Musk, who has been acting as the interim CEO, will transition into the Chief Technology Officer of Twitter role within the next few weeks.
While Musk himself hasn’t revealed any names except the fact that it’s a woman, a top US-based publication reported that Comcast NBCUniversal’s Chairman (Global Advertising and Partnerships) Linda Yaccarino is in talks for the position.
Other names speculated for Twitter CEO include former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, top exec at Musk’s Neuralink Shivon Zilis, Space X president Gwyenne Shotwell and Tesla Inc Chair Robyn Denholm.
