Facebook News to pay Indian news publishers for their content

Facebook has announced that it will be paying Indian publishers for their news content through Facebook News.
The social media giant's news service that was launched in the US last year will be arriving in India, apart from UK, Germany, France and Brazil, in the next six months, according to the company announcement.
Media reports quote Campbell Brow (VP, Global News Partnerships at Facebook) who said that the company will work closely with news partners in each country to customise the experience depending on its consumer habits and news inventory.
Brown added that Facebook will "test ways to deliver a valuable experience for people while also honouring publishers business models."
Facebook revealed that over 95 per cent of the traffic Facebook News delivers to publishers is in fact "incremental to the traffic they already get from the news feed."
Brown added that the company will be accelerating its plans to expand globally, depend on the progress of the service.
