There’s dozens of social networks in the world today. They’re doing different things, and have different reach. Some of the networks might not even look like a social network if you’re just thinking about Facebook, but that’s exactly what Wikipedia is too, when you think about it.

Spongecell – This network is a social calendar network, which allows you to share your plans with friends. In terms of the calendar business, they are largely eclipsed by Google, but the company also has a very interesting application that allows them to make advertising interactive.
The company creates ads that can flow into other social networks, calendars, mobile devices and email inboxes right from the ad unit. The company feels that people in social networks are there to network, explore and share, while advertisements are intrusive and unintegrated. Instead of making advertisements on social networks, the company wants to make advertising social.
