She was the head of advertising at NBCUniversal and a part of NBCU for over a decade now. Yaccarino oversaw Global, National and Local Ad Sales, Partnerships, Marketing, Ad Tech, Data, Measurement, and Strategic Initiatives, according to the company profile. Since joining NBCU in 2011, her team has generated more than $100 billion in ad sales and she played a key role in the launch of Peacock, the company’s ad-supported streaming business. Before NBCU, she worked with Turner as Executive Vice President/COO Advertising Sales, Marketing and Acquisitions.
Yaccarino is also the Executive Chair of the World Economic Forum and is a board member at the Ad Council. She joined the Ad Council Board of Directors in 2014 and became a member of the Executive Committee in 2015.
Last month, Yaccarino interviewed Musk on a panel titled ‘Twitter 2.0: From Conversations to Partnerships’ and asked him about the ownership of Twitter. She said she did not always like his tweets and suggested Musk should be “held to a different or higher standard” as both the most-followed account on Twitter and its owner.
Yaccarino has helped promote healthy lifestyles as a member of the President’s Council on Sports Fitness and Nutrition, appointed by former US President Donald Trump, and also worked with government agencies, the White House and Pope Francis to produce a Covid-19 vaccination campaign in her role as chair of non-profit advertising group - Ad Council.
