An independent OTT platform for just Malayalam content has been launched, according to media reports. The app is called Koode.
Koode, which means 'with you', has been launched by the house of Studio Mojo. Studio Mojo is credited with introducing one of India's first OTT platforms, iStream.com.
Commenting on the launch of Koode, media reports quoted Radhakrishnan Ramachandran, Founder & CEO of Studio Mojo, as saying, "We are bringing together‘share-compelling’ and ‘like-attracting’ content by building a network of leading content creators and influencers in Malayalam.”
Studio Mojo will also help these creators in their content production, scale them up and make brands out of them, he said.
The platform will reportedly have a two-pronged approach-- it will create original content as well as curate content from other social media platforms.
According to reports, Koode will also help these content creators connect with brands in order to build their reach and monetise it, making the app free. Apart from this, the OTT platform will have a pay-per-video model for movies and premium content soon.
