Microsoft outage: MIB, CERT-In share advisory on CrowdStrike as users face ‘Blue Screen’
The global outage that affected Microsoft’s Azure cloud and Microsoft 365 services has hit businesses, banks and flights across the world
Tech giant Microsoft’ has been facing a global outage, which has affected flights, businesses and banks worldwide. In India, flights of Vistara, IndiGo, SpiceJet and Akasa Air have reportedly been hit by the outage. According to reports, Microsoft’s Azure cloud and Microsoft 365 services have been impacted.
I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw took to X to share the CERT-In advisory on the issue. It read: “It has been reported that Windows hosts related to Crowdstrike agent ‘Falcon Sensor’ are facing outages and getting crashed due to recent update received in the product. The concerned hosts are experiencing a ‘Blue Screen of Death’ (BSOD) related to Falcon Sensor.”

The reason for this outage has been identified and updates have been released to resolve the issue.
CERT is issuing a technical advisory.
NIC network is not affected.
It has shared recovery steps for users encountering the Windows issue.
Microsoft in its statement said that they are aware of the issue affecting a “subset of customers” and the company is trying to restore services to customers as quickly as possible.
The global Microsoft outage has also sparked a meme fest with X owner Elon Musk sharing his old tweet poking fun at the company.
