Anup Vikal, CFO and general counsel of Jasper Infotech, which owns and operates Snapdeal, has resigned from the company.
Vikal had joined Snapdeal in October 2015 after leaving Aircel. Media reports suggest that he may join Essar Oil as its new CFO.
Vikal's exit is the latest at Snapdeal with senior executives who have either already resigned or are currently in exit mode including Pradeep Desai, VP of product; Viraj Chatterjee, VP of engineering; Gaurav Gupta, head of IT and Srinivas Murthy , VP of marketing, among others.
Reports further say that Vikal was in favour of Snapdeal being acquired by Flipkart. However, the Gurgaon-based company called off negotiations to be acquired by rival company Flipkart in July.
