Travelocity launches Indian portal
Online travel portal Travelocity has recently announced the launch of their India website – Travelocity.co.in. The site will allow travellers to make travel reservations, selection and booking of hotels and restaurants.
Travelocity, an international online travel website, has announced the launch of its Indian portal -- Travelocity.co.in. Through the website, users can make their travel as well as stay arrangements across the world using the destination guides and tools available on the site.
Speaking on the launch in India, Scott Blume, President, Travelocity Asia Pacific, commented, “Our team is in place, our site is ready, and we are poised to revolutionise the way hotels are booked in India.”
“Do we think the Indian travelling public is ready to book hotels online? The answer is categorically ‘yes’. We've already processed many bookings from eager travellers which shows that Indians are ready, willing and able to make real-time hotel bookings online with Travelocity India,” said Himanshu Singh, MD, Travelocity India.
Its focus on real-time local and international hotel reservations marks a strategic differentiation for Travelocity versus many other online travel agencies (OTAs) in India, claims the company. Indian hoteliers have supposedly embraced the chance to distribute hotel rooms online on Travelocity India, as well as via lastminute.com in Europe and Travelocity.com in North America.
Moreover, travellers can search and find available hotels for the time when they want to travel, review hotel information and traveller reviews, make a reservation which is then instantly confirmed over the Internet, and pay securely online in Indian rupees.
