Aha and People media Factory’s The South India Film Festival (SIFF) commenced its inaugural edition with a lamp lighting ceremony graced by esteemed personalities including Minister of Cinematography and R &B, Komatreddy Venkatreddy, Allu Arvind, Co-Founder of aha, Megahana Jupally, Director of Myhome constructions and Meru Schools, TG Vihswa Prasrad of People Media factory, Ajit Thakur, Ravikant Sabnavis, CEO of aha, Director Vamsi Paidipally.
This ceremonious start marked the beginning of a historic event that promised to be a celebration of the rich tapestry of regional storytelling and cinematic excellence.
The day continued with engaging conversations and insightful panel discussions. Mayank Shekhar, film critic and journalist, along with Allu Aravind, engaged in a captivating conversation delving into the heart of Telugu cinema.
Meanwhile, moderator Vani Rane led a discussion on the GenZ perspective on Telugu cinema with Santosh Shoban, Anand Devarakonda, and Sri Gouri Priya, unveiling fresh outlooks that shape the future of cinema. There was also a discussion on the success of cinema formula led by panellists Suparn Verma of Mirazapur fame and producer Anil Thadani.
The highlight of the day was a fireside chat led by Indian Film Critic, Taran Adarsh, with Swapna Dutt, unveiling the journey of 'Kalki'. This conversation ignited curiosity and anticipation for this cinematic marvel, leaving attendees in awe and new age directors Sai Rajesh and Sailesh Kolanu engaged in a conversation with Prema Malini.
As the sun set, the festival transitioned into a glamorous evening, adorned with a star-studded red-carpet event graced by luminaries from the South Indian film industry. Leading the pack was Padma Vibhushan Chiranjeevi, who was felicitated for his recent Padma Vibhushan honour by Murli Mohan during the event.
Joining him were personalities Murali Mohan, director Bobby, Tanikella Bharani, Manchu Lakshmi, Annaya Nagalla, and Viraj graced, each bringing their unique perspective and contribution to the festival.
