Amul expands with ice lounge in Delhi, aims for 100 outlets by year-end

Amul has introduced its 15th Ice Lounge in Connaught Place, Delhi, showcasing international flavours and a luxurious ambience as part of its ambitious national expansion strategy

The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), known for its Amul brand has launched its inaugural Amul Ice Lounge in Delhi. This new venue, located at Connaught Place has been officially opened on June 8, 2024.

The grand opening was attended by notable figures including Shri Ashok Chaudhary, Chairman of Mehsana Union and Jayen Mehta, MD of GCMMF. The development is a part of Amul’s broader strategy to enhance its market presence, with the federation reporting a turnover exceeding Rs. 80,000 crore for the financial year 2023-24.

In an exclusive conversation, Jayen Mehta, MD, Amul stated, “Through our ice cream scooping parlours we are promoting niche fresh fruit-based flavour depending upon regional demand.”

The store offers a lavish ambience where patrons can enjoy an array of 24 premium ice cream flavours representing different countries. These international flavours, crafted from high-quality Amul milk and premium ingredients include Dulce de Leche from Argentina, Butter Pecan from the USA, French Caramel, English Apple, Persian Peach, Belgian Chocolate, Swiss Chocolate, Jamaican Toto, Spanish Tango, Italian Fudge, Turkish Coffee and California Slow Churn among others.

“We have launched premium “Amul Ice Lounge” parlors at prime locations like Airports and shopping malls etc. to ensure conumers get to experience premium ambience and enjoy icecream flavours originating from different parts of the world”, Mehta added.

The Delhi outlet marks the 15th Amul Ice Lounge in India, following the brand’s successful debut in Pune a year ago. Amul has managed to open one new lounge each month since then. The Amul Ice Lounge is also present in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Statue of Unity, Surat, Jaipur, Lucknow, Nashik and Anand, with Bengaluru set to join the list this summer, bringing the total count to 16.

Amul’s plans include unveiling 100 Amul Ice Lounge International Ice Cream Parlours by the end of the year.
