Avaya has appointed telecom industry veteran, Rajeev Mittal, as the MD for India and SAARC region. His last stint was with Microsoft India

Avaya, a provider of communications and collaboration systems, today announced that Rajeev Mittal has been appointed as Managing Director of Avaya across India and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

Mittal joins Avaya at a time when companies throughout the region are looking to accelerate its businesses with the latest communications and collaborations offerings, said a company release.

“Rajeev brings tremendous experience and strong managerial skills to Avaya. His understanding of the technology and telecom sectors will be instrumental in driving our business forward,” said François Lançon, President – Asia Pacific, Avaya.

Mittal was until recently the General Manager – Small and Mid Market Solutions & Partners (SMS&P) for Microsoft India and was responsible for expanding the company’s business in the mid-market segment. Prior to that, he worked in senior positions for companies such as Oracle, IBM and Wipro Technologies.
