BBC, Radio Misty present ‘BBC Ek Mulakat Live with Kiran Bedi’ on Aug 7

BBC and Radio Misty have jointly organised ‘BBC Ek Mulakat live with Kiran Bedi’ on August 7, 2010, in Siliguri. This is the first time that ‘BBC Ek Mulakat’ is being held live in this region. The live show will be hosted by Rupa Jha. ‘BBC Ek Mulakat’ is aired every Sunday at 4 pm on Radio Misty.

BBC and Radio Misty have jointly organised ‘BBC Ek Mulakat live with Kiran Bedi’ on August 7, 2010, in Siliguri. This is the first time that ‘BBC Ek Mulakat’ is being held live in this region. The live show will be hosted by Rupa Jha. ‘BBC Ek Mulakat’ is aired every Sunday at 4 pm on Radio Misty.

Nishant Mittal, CEO, Radio Misty, said, “We are thrilled to have this show live with Kiran Bedi. We have pegged the marketing budget at Rs 7 lakh. We have undertaken a 360 degree marketing plan for this event involving radio, print, television and outdoor campaigns. Darpan Publications Ltd is the creative agency for Radio Misty.”

Indu Shekhar Sinha, India Business Development Manager, BBC World Service, added here, “We at BBC are excited about this on-ground event. Such initiatives help us engage with our audiences and at the same time gives them an opportunity to interact with eminent personalities.”

Regarding programming plans, Mittal said, “Radio Misty has designed shows and music according to listeners’ feedback. We change our programmes every three months so that listeners have a fresh feel of the station. New segments are introduced in shows after consulting our listeners. Over the years, we have been working as per our motto of ‘Local station, local people, local voice, local choice’, where we promote local talents .We have been successful in this initiative. Radio Misty is the only FM station in this region to play music in Hindi, Bengali, English, Nepali and Bhojpuri languages.”

Speaking about the advertising strategy, Mittal said, “Radio Misty has its stations at Siliguri in West Bengal and Gangtok in Sikkim. We call Radio Misty a station for all age groups from 10 to 80. We are an innovative station on air and we also do a lot of on-ground activities. We have promoted radio for retail to national clients, where we deliver a full package for their brands. We have the largest revenue pie amongst all the FM stations in this region and we work closely with advertisers.”
