My FM is celebrating Ganesha Chaturthi by bringing on air the complete Ashtavinayaka Yatra spread across eight temples for its listeners across 17 cities. The Ashtavinayaka Yatra takes the listeners to eight famous temples in Maharashtra. Completing the Yatra of all of these temples is considered to be auspicious. To add to the festivities, the radio player is sharing the history and the story behind each of these temples on different days with its listeners.

Commenting on the activity, Harrish M Bhatia, CEO, My FM said, “Our country is an amalgamation of diverse cultures and each culture has its own vibrant mix of festivals. In our endeavour to bring out the best content for our listeners and keeping in line with our motto of being the local FM channel of the country, we are celebrating the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi with great aplomb and have come up with a unique concept, where our teams will undertake the Yatra and it will be aired live on air so that listeners can enjoy and participate in the festivities as actively as the devotees present at these temples.”

Ashtavinayaka literally means ‘Eight Ganesha’ in Sanskrit. The Ashtavinayaka Yatra refers to a pilgrimage to the eight temples in Maharashtra that house eight distinct idols of Ganesha in a pre-ascertained sequence. Each of these temples has its own individual legend and history, as distinct from each other as the idols in each temple.
