German sports lifestyle company Puma and Runners for Life have come together for the Puma Urban Stampede 2013, to be held on March 17, 2013. First held in 2008, this year the Urban Stampede as been scaled up to include Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Goa.
Urban Stampede is India’s only national running property designed specifically for corporates. The run is relay formatted, where teams comprised of four members each, compete for the title of the fastest corporate running team.
Speaking about the initiative, Rajiv Mehta, Managing Director, Puma India said, “Urban Stampede fits well with Puma’s philosophy. It helps us connect with the youth and increase awareness of our performance products amongst our target audience while promoting fitness, wellness and being associated as a sports brand with something like running.”
He further said, “2013 is Puma’s Year of Performance Innovation and we have introduced some breakthrough products that are designed to improve sport performance. Puma Urban Stampede is a great platform for amateur and expert runners alike to participate in this one-of-a-kind team event.”
At the announcement event, Yuvraj Singh, brand ambassador for Puma India, opened the registrations for the marathon and unveiled the ‘Winner’ T-shirt for the run. Speaking on the occasion, Yuvraj Singh said, “Running is a great way to get fit, stay fit, and regain fitness. Puma Urban Stampede is a great concept because it gets people out of the office and on to the tracks.”
